Do you have a health care experience others should hear about? Is there a nurse, doctor, hospital or health insurer that deserves credit for providing care that went above and beyond? Tell us about it!
Submissions are now being accepted for the Patients’ View Impact Awards, the only national award program to highlight the power that patients can have in changing health care for the better. All submissions will be stories as told by patients or their loved ones, in writing, video, audio, artwork, photographs or any other format they prefer. The award is offered this year in two categories*, each of which comes with a cash prize and a trip to the award ceremony in Washington, DC. Full details on the PVI website.
The second annual awards will be presented by the Patients’ View Institute (PVI), in collaboration with The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit advocating for health care transparency and radical improvements in patient safety and quality. The award winner in each category will receive $1,000 and a paid trip to Washington, D.C. to be honored at Leapfrog’s Annual Meeting on December 6, 2016. During last year’s award ceremony, 300 health care, patient advocacy, and industry leaders gave a standing ovation to the moving stories patients shared, including those of the winner (pictured left) and honorable mentions. PVI is honored to work again with the Leapfrog Team this year, and excited to expand the awards, welcoming a broader range of care experiences. Go here to enter, or learn more.
* All patients or their loved ones are eligible to enter the competition, which will be offered in two categories:
- The Patients’ View Impact Award honors an engagingly-presented patient’s story told and submitted by the patient or their loved one, judged by the story’s potential to have a positive impact on improving the delivery of any aspect of health care.
- The Patients’ View Partners in Healing Award honors an engagingly-presented patient’s story, told and submitted by a patient or patients’ loved one, showcasing how partnership between a patient or their loved ones and clinician(s), hospital, or payers achieved a healing health care event or experience.
Story submissions will be accepted until November 4th, 2016 at 6 PM EST.
